Passive Infrastructure

The term “passive infrastructure” denotes the widest possible coverage  of transmission media used in networks today – copper (twisted pair and  coax), fiber optic, RF wireless and microwave. As the name suggests, the  focus is on the parts of the network often hidden in the wall,  underground or above ceiling.

An enterprise network is an enterprise's  communications backbone that helps connect computers and related  devices across departments and workgroup networks, facilitating insight  and data accessibility. An enterprise network reduces communication  protocols, facilitating system and device interoperability.

 Wireless networks are computer networks that are not connected by cables of any kind. The use of a wireless network enables enterprises to avoid  the costly process of introducing cables into buildings or as a  connection between different equipment locations.  Wireless networks are composed of wireless access points

Physical security is the protection of personnel, hardware, software, networks and data from physical actions and events that could cause serious loss or damage to an enterprise, agency or institution. Surveillance cameras and access control systems are two of the most commonly used physical security systems.

Endpoint security or endpoint protection is an approach to the  protection of computer networks that are remotely bridged to client  devices. The connection of laptops, tablets, mobile phones and other  wireless devices to corporate networks creates attack paths for security  threats. 

A data center  is a building, dedicated space within  a building, or a group of buildings used to house computer systems and  associated components, such as telecommunications and storage systems.

Backup and recovery refers to the process of backing up data in case of a loss and setting up systems that allow that data recovery due to data loss. Backing up data requires copying and archiving computer data, so that it is accessible in case of data deletion or corruption. 

Power protection means the pre-installation of power systems that will,  in the event of a power outage, take over from the existing lost supply  and replace it with an independent source of power. This form of power  protection is usually undertaken by the installation of uninterruptible  power supplies and generators
